Bhutan, known as the Kingdom of Bhutan, is a small landlocked country in South Asia, nestled in the eastern Himalayas. It shares borders with China and India. The country is famous for its breath-taking landscapes, rich Buddhist culture, and strong environmental policies.
Thimphu is the capital, and Dzongkha is the official language. Bhutan has a diverse climate, ranging from subtropical in the south to alpine in the north. It transitioned from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy in 2008. Predominantly following Mahayana Buddhism, Bhutan values Gross National Happiness over economic growth, making it unique in the world.
